Working principle of horizontal water curtain nozzle:

When a fire occurs, the detection and alarm device alarms and opens the deluge alarm valve to supply water to the pipe network system. When the water flows through the nozzle of the horizontal water curtain sprinkler, dense granular water droplets are sprayed from the semicircular opening in a predetermined direction to form a water curtain. It is used to cool and protect fire shutter doors, theater curtains, etc., and can also play a role in fire resistance and isolation.

Horizontal water curtain nozzle application scenarios:

Horizontal water curtain nozzles are used to continuously spray water to form a water curtain to protect surfaces threatened by fire and form fireproof separations. Horizontal water curtain nozzles are commonly used in the following scenarios:

1. For fire separation: can be used around stages, windows, escalators, spiral stairs and building atriums;

2. For protective cooling: It can be used in fireproof roller shutters, glass curtain walls, fire doors, steel components and other places.

Horizontal water curtain nozzle installation method:

Horizontal water curtain nozzles should be evenly arranged according to the designed water spray intensity requirements without any blank spots to prevent flames from passing through the protected parts. The installation distance between horizontal water curtain nozzles should be no less than 2.5 m and meet the following requirements:

1. When the water curtain is used for protective cooling, the nozzles should be arranged in a single row above the fire curtain, fire curtain or other protected objects, and it should be confirmed that the water flow is sprayed evenly to the protected objects.

2. The water curtain nozzles at the stage entrance and openings with a hole area larger than 3 m² should be arranged in double rows inside and outside the hole, and the distance between two adjacent rows should not be less than 1 m. The distance between each row of nozzles should be calculated and determined based on the flow rate of the water curtain nozzles and the designed water spray intensity.

3. The number of installed nozzles in each water curtain system should not exceed 72.

4. Water curtain nozzles of the same caliber should be installed on the same water distribution branch pipe to facilitate construction, maintenance management and confirm the uniform water spraying of the system.
